How did we get into the marquee furniture hire business?
Back in the 1990’s we started life as a marquee hire company called, The Classic Party Company. Servicing a wide range of customers across the Yorkshire region we created unique settings for countless parties, weddings and other events.

The truth is we were damned good, however…
In 2001, due to an ever increasing number of Marquee and Tent rental companies springing up, we made the decision to focus on building up our chair hire business, already well established under our original business. We chose to change the name to Black Event Furniture in order that our new direction was clear.

We have continued to develop our furniture hire services with an ever expanding range of styles, finishes and colours. From our early beginings when we stocked only gold banquet and wood folding chairs upto the current day where our range encompasses many different wood, chrome, aluminium and even transparent polycarbonate chairs, our mission has been to deliver high quality event furniture in pristine condition. We made a decision early on to avoid trying to offer too big a range of items – we realised we wouldn’t be able to offer the highest standard of equipment if we were trying to supply everything from cookers to pepper pots and knapkins! We’re sticking to tables and seating.
Marquee hire has continued to increase as more and more people like to choose the convenience of bringing their party to their home rather than haveing to travel to a distant hotel.
Marquees also have the advantage of being almost unlimited in the sizes available – if you’ve got the space and enough friends, then there will be a marquee available to cater for their needs.
