The Queen officially reopened Scarborough's Open Air Theatre

Accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen viewed a short performance from local theatre groups before unveiling a plaque to mark the reopening.

Black were pleased to provide chairs for the Queen, VIPs and four hundred other guests.

Wedding Fayre

On Sunday 17th January we could be found displaying the latest styles of chairs at a wedding fayre held at the Cedar Court Hotel, Harrogate.

We also exhibited at Duncombe Park, Helmsley on Sunday 21st February in association with 'The Wedding Affair'.

18 Tonner Moving More Tables..

With the addition of a new 18 Tonne Renault carrying a 28 foot box we can move even more tables in one go.
Having won the contract to supply Englands largest one day show, the Thame and Oxfordshire Show, for 2 more years we have made moves to increase our delivery capacity.

Black on the move...

At the end of June 2008, Black Event Furniture moved into new purpose built premises at Sheriff Hutton Industrial Estate just north of York.

We have had 2 units built, one for furniture storage and distribution, the second for the maintenance, repair and re-spraying of chairs.

Blenheim Horse Trials

Black were pleased to be the main furniture supplier for Blenheim Horse Trials for the 5th year running. Held in the stunning grounds of Blenheim Palace, this Autumn International three star event is regarded as one of the most prestigous events on the eventing calendar, attracting top riders, as well as thousands of spectators.

We are now the main furniture contractors for The Festival of British Eventing which takes place each year at Gatcombe Park, home of the Princess Royal. The event incorporates the British Open, Intermediate and Novice Championships.

We also supply Bramham International Hore Trials - a prestigious CCI*** Three Day Event held at Bramham Park since 1974.

Black at the races...

Our furniture is used in the corporate hospitality areas at many racecourses across the UK including Ascot, Cheltenham and York.

In support of racing we are pleased to sponsor several horses each season.

The Thame and Oxfordshire County Show

Black are proud to be chosen as the main furniture contractor at this show for the third year running in 2010.

Thame Show was billed as The Greatest One Day Agricultural Show in the country. Every year they attract a gate of approx 20,000 visitors who come to enjoy themselves.

Using over 5000 feet of trestle tables along with thousands of chairs, the show has continued to grow and for the first time in 2010 will become a 2 day event. Held on the outskirts of Thame the dates for next years show will be July 31 and August 1 in the hope that it is more likely that it will be sunny

BBC Question Time

We were pleased to supply the BBC with audience seating for their flagship political program, Question Time hosted by David Dimbleby.

This took place at the Yorkshire Air Museum, York on 29th November, 2007.
